|Renkoo Tip of the Week
Are those spring breezes making you chilly? Try snuggling up with the new Haikoo Zoo Cuddly-koala. We have new drinks in the Marketplace too, including cold milk, which you will need this Sunday in San Francisco.
Wednesday is the new Thursday
Fun things to make plans to do this week…
Get your credit card ready because tonight is the sophomore effort of Idol Gives Back. The funds will benefit the following charities: the Children’s Defense Fund, The Global Fund, Make It Right, Malaria No More, Save The Children, U.S. Programs and the Children’s Health Fund. Celebrities include Robin Williams, Brad Pitt, Bono, Chris Daughtry, Annie Lennox and even Snoop Dogg. Don’t forget the early start time at 7:30 p.m.
It’s that time of year again in D.C., and we’re not talking about cherry blossoms. The Smithsonian is putting on their annual Craft Show. More than 1,300 contemporary craft artists made up the selection pool, and 120 will be exhibiting this year.
The Miami City Ballet scored with its first major commission, nabbing Twyla Tharp (choreography), Elvis Costello (original composition) and Isaac Mizrahi (costumes) for Nightspot. Think love, think hibiscus red, and think of going to the Broward Center for the Performing Arts before the show is gone.
It begs the question but does not provide the answer and yes, we are referring to the Alabama Chicken & Egg Festival at the Lions Club Fairgrounds. Highlights include chicken (clucking contests and BBQ) and eggs (toss competitions and hard boiled). If that’s not enough to get you off the couch, how about the included Guitar Hero competition?
Definitely leave the kids at home because the San Francisco International Chocolate Salon is like a toy store for grown-ups, and you won’t want to share a thing. Bring a cooler of ice cold milk to Fort Mason Conference Center for the obvious chocolate tastings. There is even a chocolate body frosting demonstration, although we wonder if that isn’t taking things a tad far?
