Renkoo Tip of the Week

Featured Drinks of the Week: Super Cleansing! Now and then we all need to do a little, er, bodily housekeeping. Since everyone detoxes in different ways, we’ve done our best to put up a veritable smorgasbord of revitalizing beverages: Aloe Vera Juice, Chocolate Milk, Espresso, Soy Milk, and for those in need of some time alone, kick back with a tall Prune Juice.

Wednesday is the new Thursday

Fun things to make plans to do this week…

Wednesday

Forget The Nutcracker this year and go for the equine version of a ballet with the 37th tour of the Lipizzaner Stallions. Watch them leap and maneuver as if on a 17th century battlefield as they were bred to do. These guys have performed for a quarter million people over the years and this week, they’re in North Carolina at the Crystal Cove Civic Center in Morehead.

Thursday

This week is all about alternative uses for your computers, from art to music. The Blip Festival starts us off with four days focusing on the chiptune musicians and low-bit visual artists who use and repurpose early video game and home computing technology as their medium. There are workshops that offer you the skills to become an Atari DJ or how to push the pixels on your NES. As if that’s not enough, there will be free Singha beer to everyone over 21 during certain hours each day of the festival at Eyebeam Atelier.

Friday

Bobophiles, and you know who you are, think this is the most wonderful time of the year and you’ll find them at The Lounge Theater in Hollywood attending Bob’s Holiday Office Party. This show started out 12 years ago as an improv sketch and now has a loyal cult following and a new location every year. Is your office party as uproarious as Bob’s? Bob says to leave the kids at home, so probably not.

Saturday

Don’t be so boring and only use your laptop to work and surf and listen to music. You could be using it to rock yourself to the title of Laptop Battle Champion of 2007. There are no limitations on software or style, but be forewarned, “if you are reading MySQL code or updating your blog, you won’t stand a chance.” The winner is determined by crowd response, whoa, and you get three minutes to show the crowd at Capitol Hill Arts Center that you DO NOT SUCK. That’s another official quote.

Sunday

While everyone else is getting ramped up for the holidays, trendsetters have moved on to spring by now. Join them for Thread San Diego and see the clothing and accessories that will hit the shelves next year. Who can think about winter in sunny San Diego anyway? There’s lots of parking at Balboa Park, unlike the mall this time of year.

Renkoo helps you make plans with your friends.
