National Parks and Fat Tires, Crazy Coachella, Scavenger Hunts and Star Wars

|Renkoo Tip of the Week|
Wednesday is the new Thursday
Conveniently (and coincidentally?) timed to occur just after Earth Day, it’s National Park Week. With this nifty link, you can find inspiring activities listed by state. So gather your fellow nature lovers and make a trip out to enjoy the beauty of a national park.
Come join the New Belgium Brewing Company in kicking off the mountain bike season at the Fruita Fat Tire Festival in, well, Fruita, CO of course. This is the 12th annual celebration and they say that all you need is your bike, your smile and a “dirty dozen” of your friends.
Yes, you have to leave your favorite stuffed animals at home, but that’s no reason to cry. You will be too busy eating, drinking and grooving at Coachella to really be sad. Today starts the three-day music and food festival in Indio, CA so check out the lineup and get moving. Once you’re there, you can trade in 10 empty water bottles for one free (full) one, so don’t use that desert heat as an excuse either.
Watson Adventures puts together public scavenger hunts, and this one takes place in the grand daddy of locations, Grand Central Station in NYC. $18 and a kid (ages 7+) gains you admission to the Grand Central Scramble for families. Kids must be accompanied by adults, and vice versa. Go get ’em, Sherlock.
This is your last chance to catch the Star Wars exhibit at the California Science Center in Los Angeles, CA. Officially you will be learning how scientists and filmmakers think alike, but really you’re going to see the props and costumes from all six films.
