Wednesday is the new Thursday
Fun things to make plans to do this week…
The GDC has more than 300 conference sessions and two expo locations in its 2007 stay at Moscone Center in San Francisco, so look out for the Independent Games Festival booth where you can play all the best indie games of the year.
Liminality: Art on the Threshold is a new, large-scale art exhibit opening tonight at San Francisco’s Exploratorium. The Opening Party includes a hands-on workshop where participants can discover ways to translate emotions into structural design elements. This will be easier with the help of the Marin Brewing Company, ThirstyBear Brewing Company and Black Coyote Wines which are the beverages of choice at the cash bar.
The annual SXSW in Austin, Texas, is a huge party, so get it started at the official pre-party at Six Nightclub (117 W. 4th St.) from 6 to 8 p.m. Then head over to Freddie’s Place for the BlogHer bash (yes, guys are welcome too!)
Okay, the time change isn’t on Saturday at all but early Sunday morning. This is your reminder to LEAP FORWARD from 1:59 a.m. to 3 a.m. “tonight.” Otherwise, you might look at your cell phone (does anyone wear a watch anymore?) and wonder exactly how much Texas BBQ and tequila you just had.
Charles Ross’s One Man Star Wars show closes today at the Post Street Theater in San Francisco. Watch in awe as Ross races around the stage and performs in 60 minutes what took Lucas 387 to do.
