Let’s face it: most social networking sites are incredibly shallow. They get built around profiles that can be filled out in a matter of minutes… but can you really feel like you know someone by asking them what their favorite movie is? No way… that is just the first drop in the steady accumulation of shared experiences and revelations that eventually adds up to a beautiful lifelong friendship. Time spent together is the essential ingredient that is never adequately captured by the instant-intimacy approach of traditional social networking.
The feature we rolled out this week is archived Renkoo profiles, which you can access by clicking “See Archived Questions and Answers” on profile pages. Now you’ll be able to peruse past questions and answers (see, for example, the archive of Adam Rifkin). And even with the passage of time, you’ll be able to add to your friends’ profiles as you get to know them better.
Speaking of accumulating memories… Renkoo started out as a company two years ago today. It’s been the most wonderful two years of our lives, and we’d like to thank everyone who has come along for the ride with us!
