Oaks, Dinosaurs, Crabs, Bears, and Dips…

January 31, 2007

On Monday we had an “incident” with a spammer that prevents us from emailing out our newsletter this week, so we offer it here for you, our faithful blog reader…

Wednesday is the New Thursday

Fun things to make plans to do this week…

Winter doldrums got you down? Grab a girlfriend (or three) and head to The Oaks at Ojai where you can share a room and save $45 each per night. An olive oil body soufflé sounds like just the answer to that dry winter skin but don’t wait too long, this deal only runs from February 1st through 9th at noon.

Tired of the same old playdate at your house with Cheddar Bunnies smashed into your carpet and toys thrown into every corner of every room? Get your group to head over to the Dinosaur Puppet Show in Atlanta instead. What kid (or parent) can resist dinosaurs, volcanoes, puppets or the warning that the show contains fog and strobe effects?

Did you know we are smack dab in the middle of Dungeness Crab season? Either way, don’t miss the Oregon Seafood and Wine Festival in Portland this weekend. There’s music, fun and a free wine glass to the first 750 people through the gates each day.

Let your inner kid out and head to the NBA Slam Dunk Sweepstakes and Build-a-Bear Workshop in New York City. Not only will you bring a stuffed friend to life, but you can also enter for a chance to win 4 tickets to a regular-season NBA game of your choice and an autographed jersey.

What’s a Superbowl party without some serious grub? How about some mac and cheese with buffalo chicken? True, you can do bean dip or onion dip again, or you can take a look at the Food Network’s list of dips and try something new. And this year put the game on in two rooms — one for the serious fans and one for the chatty folks.

Renkoo helps you make plans with friends.

Speaking of the Superbowl, I’d love to have you participate and help spread the word for the Wiki-fied Superbowl boxes I’m doing for charity… http://ceonyc.pbwiki.com/SuperbowlLxi (Its all for charity…) We’re up to about 40 now and I need to make a big push tomorrow to finish up.

    Thanks so much!
